Who Are We?
What We Do
We are a group of professional belly dancers that make up Kamala Chaand Dance Company - a performing troupe that practices a purely improvisational style of belly dance called ATS®, or American Tribal Style® belly dance. Our troupe represents our dance studio in St. Paul's Lowertown neighborhood, which is where we all work to refine our dance skills. Want to learn belly dance? Join us!

Our History
Kamala Chaand Dance Company, Inc. was born in October 2010 as the second American Tribal Style® troupe directed by Tasha-Rose and the second ATS® troupe ever in the state of Minnesota. Troupe members at the time included Domyno Zukauska, Alana Erickson (Alana Mari), Velvet Caponi, and Crystal Welle. The troupe performed together at events in and around the Twin Cities for roughly a year while Tasha-Rose built the dance company’s teaching base teaching out of various studios in the Twin Cities.
A short break was taken for some troupe visioning and regrouping. That lead to the troupe being reduced to just two, Alana Mari and Tasha-Rose until the troupe took a hiatus altogether.
In 2011 the troupe was reformed, yet under the direction of Tasha-Rose. LaDonna Bartol was welcomed to the professional troupe, followed soon after by Amy Wyland. Remedy Howard joined the troupe full time in 2012 after Tasha-Rose received her Teacher Training and Sister Studio status, becoming Minnesota’s premier FCBD® Sister Studio.
In 2013 KCDC, Inc. began producing Something Tribal This Way Comes… a weekend long root to fruit tribal belly dance workshop and stage show event featuring world renowned belly dance instructors.
The current composition of KCDC, Inc. includes, Director Tasha-Rose, Assistant Director (and Director of the KCDC student troupe, Sohalia Tribal) LaDonna Bartol, Art Director Remedy Howard, Breana Larson, Becky Kennedy, and Anez Enryllis (adjunct troupe member living in the United States from Poland.) Breana received her Teacher Training and Sister Studio status in 2012. LaDonna received her Teacher Training and Sister Studio status in 2014.
The troupe is comprised of three FatChanceBellyDance® Certified Teachers and Sister Studios and teaches Pure FCDB® ATS® out of their studio in St. Paul. KCDC, Inc. continues to produce Something Tribal This Way Comes… and is establishing the non-profit Our Dancing Daughters to serve at risk young women in the Twin Cities. KCDC, Inc. continues to perform locally and across the country, and is growing as Minnesota’s leader in American Tribal Style® belly dance.
